1. Railway

Leveraging the UGE Bearing Cycle Life Partnership concept, UGE will utilize all its professional knowledge and technology to assist railway customers in addressing the economic and environmental challenges they face. UGE develops and provides a range of high-performance, high-reliability, and long-maintenance-cycle bearings for various railway vehicles (axles, drive devices, and main motors), supporting the railway's mission of "safely, reliably, and quickly reaching destinations".

2. Passenger vehicles and machines

Electric locomotives and diesel locomotives are the primary equipment for all railway operators, used to haul freight and passenger trains, with some operators even employing them for high-speed operations. In passenger transportation, an increasing number of electric and diesel multiple units are being utilized for both long-distance and short-distance operations, particularly for shuttle services within short-distance sections. As an alternative to congested city streets and suburban areas, public rail transportation has become increasingly important. Vehicles such as suburban trains, electric cars, subways, and light rail trains operate globally. UGE plays an active role in developing various types of axle boxes for different bogies to meet their diverse challenges. A major issue is the increasing demands for reliability and safety, as well as compact designs that meet weight restrictions.  

3. Truck

Railway operations require technical and economic solutions with low life cycle costs. Therefore, axlebox bearings need to minimize maintenance requirements. Axlebox bearings must be capable of operating under fully loaded vehicles and extreme weather conditions. Some axlebox designs also adopt the form of bearing saddles. The typical requirement for freight cars is to achieve extremely long working hours and maintenance intervals.
